About Exam

NTA conducts ICAR AIEEA exam as a computer based test (CBT). Every year nearly 2.5 lakh aspirants appear for admission for UG courses & more than 50000 students appear for admission in PG courses across the country. In 2019, ICAR exam was given by 2,36,931 candidates for UG course admissions, 51,486 for PG course admissions. The competition in the exam is tough and it is getting tougher by day to day due to the lucrative career option in B.Sc. (Agriculture) and M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Banking, State department of agriculture and in Central government agriculture department jobs.   • ICAR AIEEA-UG exam

The ICAR-AU system of India has 74 Agricultural Universities comprising 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs), 4 ICAR-DUs, viz. IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE, 3 Central Agricultural Universities (CAU, Imphal, Dr. RPCAU, Pusa and RLB CAU, Jhansi), 4 Central Universities (CUs) having Faculty of Agriculture (BHU, AMU, Visva Bharati and Nagaland University). The National Agricultural Research, Education and Extension System (NAREES) of India is one of the largest in the world, admitting more than 27000 graduates

  • ICAR AIEEA-PG (popularly known as JRF exam)

25% seats in master’s programmes [100% seats in ICAR-Deemed to be Universities (DUs)] are filled through AIEEA-PG exam. Through AIEEA-PG, 475 ICAR PG Scholarships are also awarded.
