In 2019, ICAR exam was given by 2,36,931 candidates for UG course admissions, 51,486 for PG course admissions. The ICAR-AU system of India has 74 Agricultural Universities comprising 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs), 4 ICAR-DUs, viz. IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE, 3 Central Agricultural Universities (CAU, Imphal, Dr. RPCAU, Pusa and RLB CAU, Jhansi), 4 Central Universities (CUs) having Faculty of Agriculture (BHU, AMU, Visva Bharati and Nagaland University). 25% seats in master’s programmes [100% seats in ICAR-Deemed to be Universities (DUs)] are filled through AIEEA-PG exam. Through AIEEA-PG, 475 ICAR PG Scholarships are also awarded.
